United are hoping to complete the signing of Southampton’s Luke Shaw in the next few days before the England team set off for their World Cup training camp.
The left back has become the Red’s top target and has already been the subject of a reported £27 million bid which was rebuffed.
The Guardian notes:
Manchester United are racing against the clock to sign Luke Shaw, heartened that the Southampton full-back has made them his No1 choice but conscious that once England leave their World Cup training camp in the US on Sunday week there will be little chance of buying him until after the tournament.
Despite Patrice Evra signing a new deal it’s obvious United need a new left back and Shaw fits the bill having had a stunning debut season in the Premier League. Despite Louis Van Gaal being busy managing Holland for the World Cup, reports suggest he’s given the green light for the board to finalise a deal for Shaw.
Great acquisition to leave Evra on the left flank:) hope it’s the first of many!
It can be only be a good thing still keeping EVRA not just as a understudy to SHAW but he some one very special who plays every game for badge. He needs to stay at the club after finishing playing as a club ambassador like ROBBO AND BIG PETE.
United should do everything now to secure Shaw’s deal.
please man utd should make a fast move on any player they want to sign.
