It’s the opening day of the season and we’ve got a barnstormer of an opening match for you as Manchester United take on Swansea City at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils won this fixture 4-1 last season at the Liberty Stadium, notching up former manager David Moyes’ first win of the campaign. However with Dutchman Louis Van Gaal at the helm big things are expected from United this season after they finished outside the top four for the first time in Premier League history.

Luckily for you we will have the all the best stats, images and live commentary, so settle in and follow the blog below for your chance to win a signed Robin Van Persie shirt courtesy of BT Sport.

Well,,,,, I just watched the match and to say disappointed is an understatement. I know we have many injuries, I know we are stagnating in the transfer market but my concern is what I saw.
It was with some excitement that I wanted to see how LVG’s philosophy worked in the EPL but did any-one see anything different from last season ? There was endeavor, ball possession and work rate but little else. The same lack of clinical attacking football and the same defensive clangers,, it was like watching any match from last season, I really hope LVG does not fall for the Rooney factor.
