Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel has recently caused transfer speculation by noting how he’d like to join United one day.
The Belgian international was quoted:
‘It’s true that I like the Premier League, because it is one of the best league’s in the world, for me, together with Germany and Spain. It is a very good league, it is a crazy league. A lot of my colleagues play there, but we will see.
‘I am still young, only 26. We‘ll see in the future. I have always liked Manchester United from when I was young.’
While United do need a combative midfielder Louis Van Gaal may be put off signing Witsel by the fact he once committed a horror tackle on Marcin Wasilewski while playing for Standard Liege in 2009. Wasilewski was left with a broken leg as a result of the challenge which resulted in an eight match ban for Witsel.
It may have been a long time ago, but Van Gaal could be reluctant to sign a player who commits such tackles, sometimes wanting to play for United isn’t enough to make it happen. Watch this space….
No its not watch this space, its a simple none story, lvg wont move for him regardless of what the lad has said.
The tackle has nothing to do with it, Rojo likes a challenge, blind likes a challenge, Rooney likes a challenge, Louis will simple not want the player
