David De Gea- Could do nothing about Arsenal’s three goals, although his distribution wasn’t great at times. 6
Matteo Darmian- Was badly exposed against Alexis Sanchez and was rightly subbed at half time. 4
Chris Smalling- Not his best day at the office but was one of United’s better defenders- if that means much. 6
Daley Blind- Tried bringing the ball out of defence a couple of times but like his team mates wasn’t an afternoon he’d care to remember. 5
Ashley Young- Poor first half but grew into the game, unfortunately by that time it was already over. 5
Michael Carrick- It’s not that hard to believe it’s not Scholes. Arguably his worst game in years. 5
Bastian Schweinsteiger- It was odd seeing him doing the job Rooney should’ve been doing but he was far too forward up the pitch. 5
Juan Mata- Tried to make things happen and had a few nice touches but by and large a passenger. 5
Memphis- Frustrating to watch so many poor decisions by the youngster, he needs more time to adjust. 4
Wayne Rooney- Worst performance of the season and that’s saying something. 3
Anthony Martial- The only bright point, was unlucky not to score and will have far more of the ball than he received today in future games. 6
Subs-
Marouane Fellaini – At least looked up for the fight although he wasn’t able to make his effort effective. 5
Antonio Valencia- Should’ve started, as he looked more comfortable than Darmian. 6
James Wilson – Bonkers bringing him on with so little time and when United were already 3-0 down. 6
