Croatian’s transfer is rumbling on

The Ivan Perisic to United transfer is beginning to reach ‘saga’ proportions as a deal for the winger still seems far from being complete and the latest rumblings from the San Siro indicate Internazionale are no longer willing to part company with their Croatian international.

The latest reports suggest Inter boss Luciano Spalletti seems to be growing increasingly confident of keeping his star man who’s emerged as the number one target for United over the past few weeks and has had many Reds scrolling through YouTube videos to see just what all the fuss is about.

The Manchester Evening News notes:

Luciano Spalletti can’t seem to make up his mind on the winger’s future after previously declaring they would sell if the right money was offered.

The Reds have refused to meet the Italian club’s £45million valuation of the former Dortmund and Wolfsburg winger.

In a press conference on tour Spalletti admitted: “We want to keep him, but a lot of considerations have to be made. I can’t say for sure if he is going to stay or not.”

United fans are growing increasingly impatient at the contradictory stories and as rivals City wrap up deal after deal, regardless of whether they’ve overpaid or not, it’s becoming a tad frustrating that a winger who was seemingly available, at an inflated price, with little resale value due to his age, is still out of reach. At least we aren’t 20/1 to win the league like Liverpool are with SportNation.bet though. If United are willing to pay the price it should be done and dusted, but for many Reds the real target should be much closer to home.

Alexis Sanchez is a name many United fans would love to see at Old Trafford, the only question is can Jose Mourinho make it happen – and would he really be prepared to go toe to toe financially with City who are believed by SportNation.com to be chasing the Chilean winger?

Here’s what United fans have been saying on social media about Perisic and the prospect of Sanchez.
