Manchester United are set to seal the deal for Porto’s left back Alex Telles according to the latest reports. The Reds are looking to finally add to the signing of Donny van de Beek by buying the 27 year-old. United fans have been crying out for additions to the squad and the recent 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford has only added to the anger felt by many supporters.

The Guardian notes: 

Alex Telles is hopeful of sealing a move to Manchester United from Porto this week and becoming Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s second signing of the window. Negotiations for the 27-year-old Brazil left-back, who has a release clause of €40m (£36.7m), are advanced.

The focus by United for much of the Summer has been the attempted signing of Jadon Sancho but with that looking less and less likely according to many reports in both Germany and the UK, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be looking at other areas of the squad that need improving.

With a recent brace over Braga and 13 goals last season in all competitions Telles is one of the Portuguese league’s most coveted defenders with Paris Saint German also in the running for the left back, the Reds who remain favourites to sign him may need to act fast before it’s too late.
