The future’s bright…..

What a finish. The timing and the technique were flawless. Who would have thought that the possible turning point in United’s season could have been instigated by a relatively unknown Belgian teenager whose contract is up at the end of the season? The odds on United winning the league have certainly become much better. Remember the name – Adnan Januzaj.

The famous saying “You’ll never win anything with kids” has been disproven over and over again, and Saturday’s comeback thanks to the brilliance of this eighteen year old could be the start of the new era we have all been hoping for under Moyes.

With Wayne Rooney publicly behind David Moyes now, surely everything will start to click for the manager and United will move up another gear. United do have a title winning squad, but the most important thing about Saturday was the winning mentality and the character that the players showed to come back from the early set back against Sunderland. That is what this club is all about.

Okay, so it probably wasn’t a vintage Manchester United performance by any means, but a win and three points can do wonders for a team’s confidence. United are now only 6 points off the top, and the potential, and confidence for better and more creative performances is growing. With players in the squad like Kagawa, Nani, Chicarito, and even Zaha yet to be fully utilised, fans of football betting will be delighted with the prospect of United going on a long awaited run, and potential goal scoring spree that we are all craving!

That will only happen if Moyes realize that players like Carrick, Young, Fletcher, Ferdinand, Evans, Jones, Welbeck and Valencia should be offloaded and fresh legs given more playing time.

Sorry to reply a month late, but I have to take issue with the above comment.

Carrick was our best player last season, why get rid of him? He’s a great passer of the ball and without him our midfield would look even worse than it is.

Fletcher has had a serious illness and offloading him would be a terrible way to treat such a loyal and committed servant to the club. If it turns out he has to quit professional football, I would hope there is a coaching job for him at United. But I hope he can get back playing as he will be an asset to the team.

Evans has impressed me recently. A couple of years ago I’d have said to get rid but with Vidic and Rio being crocked/too old to play every game, and Evans improving all the time, he is very much needed.

Jones will do just fine, still way too early to write him off. Welbeck may not be prolific but you must not see him as an out-and-out striker. He has good technical ability and will be an asset to the team in years to come.

Agree with you on Valencia and Young and clearly Rio’s time is coming to an end. I would also add Cleverley to those who need to be shown the exit door. I do not believe he will ever be good enough to sustain a regular place in our side.

Zaha needs a chance. There’s obviously a reason why Moyes doesn’t trust him, and he may well prove to be a flop, but I trust Fergie’s judgement and look what has happened to Januzaj in the space of six months. From nowhere near the first team to a match winner.

Who is to say that couldn’t be Zaha in a couple of months time? He’s a very talented player. Paul Ince might think his son is better because of goals/assists, but Zaha’s technical ability is far superior. He’s a more exciting player to watch, that’s for sure. I know who my money would be on to have a more successful career and it isn’t Tom.
