I’m such a Di Maria fan….

Some rumours just refuse to die down, like the one about England having a national football manager or the one about Mario Balotelli being a good footballer.

The most recent rumour that refuses to die down is the one about Arturo Vidal coming to United. It doesn’t matter that the Reds spent £325 billion in the Summer or that Vidal’s knee has it’s own treatment room at the Stadio Delle Alpi or that Daley Blind is so good, even Antonio Valencia looks decent in midfield next to him. Vidal IS coming to United, probably, possibly, maybe, potentially, one day….

The Guardian is the latest newspaper to pick up the tattooed, hard-tackling baton, noting:

The Chilean firebrand reportedly enjoyed a bit too much of la vida localast Thursday night, apparently causing him to roll up at training late and attracting the ire of his manager at Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri, who promptly dropped him to the bench for the biggest match of this season’s Serie A so far. Juve won it 3-2 against Roma, Vidal gracing proceedings for the final 11 minutes, but the biggest effect of the midfielder’s night on the tiles has been to reignite the summer’s ever-so-interesting stories linking him with a move to Manchester United. Will Juve perform a volte-face and allow him to leave in light of his indiscretions? Is Vidal, after all, the man to give Louis van Gaal’s midfield the box-to-box presence it craves? Is this all two plus two equals five? No idea, but the lights in here are just a little too bright this morning.

Has Vidal angered Allegri enough to make him surplus to requirements at the Old Lady? Would United actually want the Chilean, knowing the problems he could bring with him, not to mention yet another mega-transfer fee? Who knows, but one thing’s for sure this story will rumble on and on, for many months to come….
