United v Newcastle has thrown up some crackers over the years- no that wasn’t a Christmas pun- with goals, red cards, upsets, but more often than a win for the Reds.

Last season saw yet another demoralising defeat during the David Moyes era as The Toon ended a run of 437 years without a win at Old Trafford.

This season should be different- hopefully- as Louis Van Gaal seems to understand how to manage a football team- sorry Moyeseh.

The Reds last outing against Aston Villa ended in a somewhat disappointing 1-1 draw which ended a run of six straight wins.  United can get back to winning ways today though against a side that’s lost their last two games.

Here’s how the Reds could line up against Alan Pardew’s men:

4-3-1-2: David De Dea, Rafael, Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Ashley Young, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao.
