lvg-red Despite what many have considered a disappointing season for Manchester United, they currently sit third, ahead of rivals Manchester City, and just a point behind Arsenal. Not bad for a team not playing ‘the United way’.
But that doesn’t hide the fact that there have been problems at Old Trafford this season, and part of that has been down to players not pulling their weight.
Robin van Persie has been a shadow of the 30 goal striker we once knew, and Radamel Falcao has found life in the Premier League incredibly tough since joining on loan, which only leaves Wayne Rooney left to score the goals.
There’s no doubt that van Gaal will be dipping into the transfer window this summer, and rumours are already circulating on who will be welcomed into the Old Trafford dressing room come August. But who can put them ahead of the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City?

Raheem Sterling

It’d be a mighty surprise if young Raheem Sterling made the journey down the East Lancs Road to Old Trafford but it’s a move that the media has been flirting with the last few weeks.
Sterling has refused to sign a new deal with the Reds worth £100,000-a-week and with van Gaal looking to splash the cash this summer, they could make an outlandish bid. That could see Di Maria move elsewhere, but with the form of the two players this season, it wouldn’t necessarily be a major sacrifice.
Should put a United kit on it would boost their attacking prowess considerably, and for many years to come too! Not that Liverpool will let him move to OT of course.

Gareth Bale

Rumours of Gareth Bale moving to Old Trafford are actually getting a little tiresome now. It sparks up again almost every week, with the prospect of David De Gea travelling the other way, but will it actually happen?
It would be a good bit of business if it did, and you’d see plenty of fans ploughing a winner free bet on United to win the league should he sign on the dotted line. We all know his explosive power and skill, and would turn any of the top four teams into the favourites for the Premier League if he were to walk out onto the pitch with them.
And it’s likely if Carlo Ancelotti does let Bale move, United will be clear frontrunners to get the Welsh wizard.

Edinson Cavani

Firepower is needed at Manchester United. And quick. With only Rooney showing any kind of form up front and James Wilson still a little off becoming a regular starter for the Red Devils, United certainly need to add another top-class striker to their ranks.

The summer could in fact see both van Persie and Falcao leave the club with the latter’s option-to-buy clause unlikely to be taking. That’s laying way for a £60million move for PSG striker Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguayan has already scored 18 goals this season, and it’s believed that van Gaal is willing to put him on a £300,000-a-week contract making him the joint highest-paid player alongside Wayne Rooney.
A top-class striker, and some suring up in defence, and the title could be winging its way back…
