Morrison- hopefully his football will be the talking point from now on

Manchester United reserves hammered Rochdale’s second team last night 6-1 at a windy Moss Lane. Josh King may have grabbed most of the headlines with a superb hat-trick but many Reds will be more pleased to have seen the return of Ravel Morrison.

Morrison’s had a turbulent past few weeks, being suspended from the club and allegedly pleading guilty to witness intimidation. Last night the Wythenshawe youngster was able to put his troubles behind him as he came on just before the hour mark, grabbing the final goal in the last minute.

Morrison looked ‘up for it’ as soon as he entered the fray, setting up King for his second as well as hitting the upright right at the death.

Fabio Da Silva and Robbie Brady were also on target as the Reds kept up their hundred per cent record in the Manchester Senior Cup.

United: Devlin; R Brown (Giverin 75), Wootton, Gill, McGinty (Morrison 57); Vermijl, Norwood, Ekangamene (Barmby 75), Fabio, Brady; King.
Sub not used: Johnstone.
