Anyone watching Real Madrid’s destruction of Spurs on Sky Tuesday night will have been treated to the insightful commentary of Ray “Butch” Wilkins.

Similarly to Peter Crouch, Wilkins completely lost the plot at the Bernabeu making the statement “stay on your feet” so often it seemed as though he was suffering from a form of tourettes. The saying quickly became a trending topic on twitter and was all over various social networks.

Rio Ferdinand gave a post match interview following United’s win over Chelsea in the Champions League Quarter Final at Stamford Bridge.

Never one to be too out of touch with the latest zeitgeist Ferdinand ended the interview with the comment: “as long as we stay on our feet we’ll be alright.” Almost as brilliant a performance as he gave on the pitch.
