With so many Manchester United players out injured, here is an update on each of their situations:
Chris Smalling – Tonsillitis – Expected to return to training on Monday
Jonny Evans – Calf Injury – Expected to be out for another week.
Ashley Young – Ankle Injury – Expected to be back from injury within a week.
Darren Fletcher – Bowel Condition – Will be out of football for 4 months where his situation will then be reassessed. Scotland manager Craig Levein is hopeful he will be back for the World Cup qualifiers at the start of next season.
Nemanja Vidic – Knee Ligaments – Will be out for the rest of the season.
Fabio Da Silva – Hamstring Injury – Expected to be out for another week or two.
Michael Owen – Thigh Strain – No return date of knowledge.
Tom Cleverley – Ankle Injury – He has returned to training. Expected to be back in action any time in the next month. Some rumours doing the rounds that he will play in Manchester United’s next reserve fixture.
The depleted Manchester United squad should have largely returned by this time next month. The only long term absentees are Vidic and Fletcher who will both be sorely missed this season.
