An eleven match unbeaten run, demolishing Bayer Leverkusen 5-0 in Germany during the last game, you could be forgiven for thinking everything is rosy for David Moyes and Manchester United. Forgive me for being a tad negative but while there are reasons to be cheerful, occupying 6th place in the Premier League after 12 games is hardly cause for celebration. United need to close the seven point gap between ourselves and leaders Arsenal and remind everyone just who the champions are.
Spurs haven’t had the best of times of late under AVB who’d rivalling his mentor Jose Mourinho in the ‘nutty decisions that don’t make any sense whatsoever’ stakes. Leaving Moussa Dembele out against Manchester City was disastrous, while thinking Emmanuel Adebayor was the man to help turn the game around was farcical. United can expect no such favours when we visit White Hart Lane this Sunday as Villas Boas knows he needs a win to silence the critics, so it’s vital we build on the win in Germany and pick as strong a side as possible.
David Moyes could go with the same side that defeated Leverkusen, although unlikely- much depends on whether Robin Van Persie is fully fit, although don’t be surprised if he starts on the bench as the manager opts to ease him back in. Here’s my predicted line up:
David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs, Phil Jones, Nani, Shinji Kagawa, Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney.
Do you agree? Let us know your predicted line up:
