Louis Van Gaal will be handed a £150 million transfer kitty this January and could begin bringing in reinforcements immediately according to the latest reports.
Mats Hummels has been identified as the Reds’s top target but the German defender won’t be the only signing Van Gaal pursues in the transfer window.
The Mirror notes how the United boss will be begin a ‘transfer frenzy today’ with Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne also identified as a possible target along with Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman.
Much has been made of United’s identical points tally under Van Gaal to that of David Moyes at the same stage last season and there’s an overriding worry that despite the big Summer signings the Reds are still some way off truly kicking on this season.
If as The Mirror reports United add two defenders and a defensive midfielder to their squad then hopefully a Champions League place will be a formality rather than a possibility.
dnt jus knw wat to say ov dis team. strootman or wareva is notin compared to mr carrick in dat position. i jus hope he buy defenders nd a real nine, wit these, i formally bliv utd can kill ani team
i think van gaal can bring strootman so that man u can be successfull
