Jose Mourinho’s summer spending looks set to include one of Leicester City’s title winning heroes according to the latest reports.
United are in the chase for the Foxes midfield star N’Golo Kante and due to his release clause, may find it easy to sign the French star.
The Metro notes: Manchester United have entered the race to sign Leicester City star N’Golo Kante and intend to trigger the midfielder’s release clause with a £22million bid.
The 25-year-old has emerged as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders after an incredible debut season with the Foxes.
The Frenchman signed for Claudio Ranieri’s side for just £5.5m from Caen but is believed to have a release clause of around £22m in his contract
Kante would be a welcome addition to any side and recently shone at the Euros in France’s 2-1 win over Romania with a higher pass completion rate than any other player on the pitch. Last season Kante was one of the shining stars of the Premier League and a big part of the reason behind Leicester’s success. United may not be the only club in for Kante though, as Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested.
Let’s see if the lure of Jose Mourinho is more than the promise of Champions League football should the midfielder be forced to make a choice.
