If reports are to be believed then Sir Alex Ferguson is lining up a swoop for Argentinean wonderkid Juan Manuel Iturbe – a player who’s already been handed the unfair moniker of ‘The New Messi.’

Iturbe plays for Argentine side Quilmes but a deal with Portuguese giants Porto has believed to have been reached whereby the young winger will sign for them on his 18th birthday on the 3rd of June.

Speculation is rife that Iturbe has already been earmarked for a move to Old Trafford once his European apprenticeship has been served at Porto.  Whether this is true remains to be seen  but if this goal for the Argentina under 20’s  is anything to go by, I’d certainly welcome the lad to The Theatre of Dreams with open arms.

  1. Seems like United are starting to focus their scouts on plucking out talent youngsters from South America.

Barcelona, Milan and many other top clubs have benefited massively from their scouting network in South America and United seem to be following this idea.

He’s being touted as the next Messi but some sites are saying he’ll used as a long-term replacement for Ryan Giggs.
