Cristiano Ronaldo

CR7 shows off his superman quiff

When Cristiano Ronaldo made his £80 million move to Real Madrid, most pundits had their say.

It was the start of the end of Manchester United with us selling our best player and probably the best player in the world at the time. It was also meant to be the start of the Real Madrid revival. With Ronaldo and Kaka joining, they were surely going to overthrow Barcelona as not only the best team in Spain, but probably the best team in the world.

Fast forward two years and things have not worked out how many had predicted. Manchester United are still a force to be reckoned with, both in the Premier League and in Europe. Antonio Valencia and Nani have both stepped up to the plate to fill the gap left by Ronaldo and younger players such as Rafael, Fabio, Smalling and Hernandez are starting to show their worth to United.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have not done as well as most predicted. Still lagging behind Barcelona in the league and being out played by them in Europe. Their only success in the two years has been a Copa del Ray, which perhaps fittingly, was dropped under a bus.

Also, Lionel Messi, the second best player in the world (After Gareth Bale of course), has found another gear. His performances have really put Ronaldo in the shade over the past couple of years.

So, what I am trying to say is, come home Ronnie.

It would probably cost in the region of £75 million to bring him back (if they are willing to sell of course) Even the most optimistic fans would agree that we will probably won’t have more than around the £40 million mark to spend in the summer. So where can we find the missing £35 million from?

Tomasz Kuszczak looks like he is leaving. We should get £5 million for him. £45 million.

Dimitar Berbatov’s position in the team has been taken by The Little Pea. Many are tipping him to leave this summer. He is only 30 years old and is currently the Premierships leading scorer. We should get at least £10 million for him. £55 million.

Rumour has it, Osama Bin Laden was killed by a wayward Darron Gibson long range shot in training. The FBI had a £15 million reward on the head of Bin Laden. No doubt the Glazers are already in touch with them. £70 million.

We could also sell Darron Gibson. For a player of Gibson’s quality and ability, we should be looking at around the 50p mark. £70,000,000.50

Lastly, I am offering to sell my Mum. She can cook a quality Cottage Pie, is world class with a hoover and makes a quality cup of tea. Surely we could get £5 million from City for her. £75,000,000.50

So there we have it. We could afford Ronaldo, the majority of fans would love him back and I have a feeling Ronaldo would love to come back home.

Viva Ronaldo.

      Viva Ronaldo

Enough with the stick handed out to Gibson.

I`m not his biggest fan either, and is unsure if he brings enough quality to be a future United regular, but as long as he is a United player we should support him.

He played a good match yesterday, and should recieve some recognition for that.

Regarding Ronaldo coming back I dont see it coming. He is far to stubborn leeaving Real before winning a major trophy with them, and showing his true ability. Yes he`s been great for Real, but great isn`t enough for Ronaldo, he wants more.

Maybe he will come to United with Jose in a couple of years time, but I am unsure if i want to see Jose managing United at all.

Only time will show, but I think Ronaldo won`t come back to Old Trafford again as a United player, even tough I would welcome it very much.

I dont see a problem with a player always wanting to do more and better himself. Surely that is a good thing?

It would be great if ronnie could return to Manchester united but i don’t think real madrid would sell him because he is the only player in their team who has keep real madrid in a respectable position this season

  4. Danny Salford Red says:

I agree with Rio. If it were Iniesta made that through ball last night everyone would be wetting themselves. The lad gets far too much stick. Im assuming that the Bale comment was a joke as well right?

Get off Gibbo’s back. He put in a good performance last night. Yes, i agree, he isn’t a fantastic player but he’s a squad player. I’m fed up with the crap some people come out with. Not everyone can be a Keane, Beckham et al. The abuse he gets is disgusting. While he’s at Utd he should be supported. Do you think it serves him well to be talked about like that? The Twitter fiasco was unbelievable.

As for Ronny, he ain’t coming back. Forget about that. 1. We can’t afford his price. 2. He’ll give it at least another season or 2 at RM.

  6. gB says:

You actually want that little fairy back? He may of been good at United, but he’s so unloyal and only out for himself, we’re doing fine without the guy and i dont want him back, let’s buy a fresh player that actually wants to play for United

    • lamar says:

HELL NO. we dont need ronaldo back. we need faithful players that love the club

    • @stockportred says:

It was his dream to play for Real Madrid. If the shoe was on the other foot and a player wanting to join us, would we slag him off?

      • gB says:

Have you forgot the whole rooney wink thing? the guy is only out for himself

        • @stockportred says:

The same could be said for Rooney and his contract talks a few months back.

Anyways, that was for his Country, i don’t see how it affects his loyalty to the club.

        • gB says:

Difference is, Rooney is English, much easier to forgive. I’d put money on that if Ronaldo comes back to England he’d do it for City and Chelsea’s money

        • caron says:

What do you mean??? The best man wins. Dont tell me rooney wouldnt do the same if accoasion arises.Rooney is a bad player and person.Rooney is out for the lime light thats why he wated ronaldo out of man u. Thats why cr7 doesnt want to go back .Rooney loves the lime light.

  7. BW says:

Gibson is a decent young player. No worse than Gareth Barry. He could develop because he’s very strong, considering his age. In two or three years time he could be a really dominating player, almost Keane-esque… 🙂

I would rather have Bale for £40m than Ronaldo back for £70m.

    • JETELINHO says:

well, it isn´t that difficult to be better then Gareth Barry, is it? 🙂

it´s probably as easy as not to give a goal, when the ball is not over the line …

to topic itself: can´t see this happen, SAF does NOt bring the boys back (never …) & this would not be the only reason, I suppose, anyway …

nore bale – won´t happen imo.

I somehow feel that we will see only one well known player at OT this summer (if even that?!), the others (& do not expect plenty) will be unknown or almost unknown youngsters. Eventhough I would like to see some ´finished´ player to come in, don´t see this happen.

      regards, Jet

    • ghsyt says:

@bw. r u thick? he was takin the piss gareth bale is fuckin shit

      • BW says:

I never said Bale was better than Messi. Bale is the ideal replacement for Giggs, however. Right now SAF is having to put right sided players like Park and Nani at LM because of Giggs’s age.

If you think “gareth bale is fuckin shit”, to use your own words, you are the idiot here.

        • giggsleftfoot says:

          that wasn’t his words……..

        • Scott says:

Gareth Bale isn’t shit as such.. Still the most over-rated player in England!

        • caron says:

Ronaldo is 100% better than rooney or messi. Cr7 can do anything and everything. What can rooney and messi do??they cannot do free kicks and tuckle .pleaseeeeeeeeeeee

  8. Kev says:

Did anyone else notice the tears when Gibbo scored last night??

It seemed to me as if it might have been due to pressure put on by utd’s own fans. It seemed to look like a tear of releif…..?

Personally I have the following opinion of Gibbo

    “In Fergie we trust”

If he wasnt good enough, he wouldnt be there!!

    *SIMPLES*

  9. jose says:

I’m behind Gibo too. Darren Fletcher was what many seen as a below average player until the last season, and Fletch rarely offers a decent goal. Too many so-called supporters pick up on what others say and offer it as their own opinion. Gibson has more often than not played in a much understrength side in Cup games while senior players are being rested. Moreover he has came through the ranks at United, which means he deserves our support more than a high profile player who is signing for the club and getting 100k plus a week.
As for Ronaldo I don’t think he’s worth what you would have to pay for him. I’d rather get a replacement for Scholes and Giggs as Ronaldo has been replaced. He wanted to leave, so unless he wants to run his contract down and come back on a free, let him be.

  10. JETELINHO says:

I´ve almost forgotten to mention that I am absolutely FINE with us sticking with the youth policy – that is smthg, what probably isn´t evident from the first post 🙂

    come on united
