With Manchester City finally ending their 35 year wait for a trophy, specualtion has been rife as to what banner will be chosen to replace the famous ‘ticker’ one at Old Trafford.

Leaked pictures on the interweb suggest that this image could be one of the new banner- although according to some suggestions  the ‘TBC’ could be removed to reveal ’43’ to acknowledge City’s wait for a league title.

Whether it’s true or not remains to be seen, and on Sunday all will be revealed but many Reds on the social networks seem to be angered at the idea of having any banner that’s a reference to our less successful neighbours. The 35 years is over, it was great while it lasted, let’s move on.

I agree with you and personally think it would be a bit smalltime of us to keep it going.

We’ve had our fun and it was great, but as you say, we should now move on.

To “change the goalposts” now would be a little embarrassing I feel.

Spot on Jay, and I agree with Alan. We’ve had our fun, forget about them and concentrate on ourselves for a bit.

it was fun while it lasted i think that putting a banner again would be stupid and it will motivate city to win and if they win we will look very stupid

    • RedScot says:

Graham? which Champions in 2012 are you moving to?Its how many years….just for clarification.
Nobodys really interested in the FA cup now, its the ‘third’ tier of football for the big boys.
Premiership, Champions league, where the sponduliks are.I firmly believe if you had not been eliminated from that no hoper team in the Europa league, to knock you out of your wishfull dream for a visit to Dublin for a final, you would have had a cat in hells chance in the FA cup.At the time United were in three tournaments, you caught us on a bad day.
Put on the ‘Barbie’ and chill the Foster’s, we are building through youth, something City cannot grasp!

Sorry Scot! I hate any form of censorship but some people are a little sensitive!

      • Steve says:

I think it’s now a good time to re-introduce the United year “ticker” not for City but for United. ☺ Just so you know for the 2012-13 season it should read 0001.

  5. RedScot says:

Yikes its got more letters on it than the previous one.Dont you know that means its going to be more difficult to ‘shove up your Arse’ when it has to come down.TM City fans. Pmsl

  6. RedScot says:

On saying sensitive, if you saw in that case Frank on Truly Reds and the names he was called the other night over the internet bye Manchester City supporters.
And he is ‘Australian’ and fought his corner brilliantly without reverting to abuse, jeez he was just having banter and it turned unfunny and blatantly vile.
Sorry Graham I winna call you Bruce again, how does Sheila sound? joking!
