Wesley Sneijder

Is the Dutchman heading to Old Trafford?

Wesley Sneijder could be unveiled as a Manchester United player sooner than people think according to Talksport’s Dom McGuinness.

The Manchester based reporter stated he believes the Dutchman is on his way to Old Trafford in the very near future.

Sam Matterface who presents the show stated that his sources had told him Samir Nasri preferred a move to Manchester City due to “astronomical wages on offer.”

Whether Nasri ends up at Eastlands or Sneijder is plying his trade at the Theatre of Dreams remains to be seen, but the positive thing for United is regardless of who comes or doesn’t the squad is in great shape.

He would be a great signing for the club. Inter Milan paid £15 million for him two years ago, so hopefully they will accept doubling there money with a £30 million bid from us this week. He’s 27 which is older than we normally sign players at, but there has to be exceptions sometimes. We have lost a lot of experience in the squad this summer, so signing a player at his peak is a good move.

If we can get Sneijder then it will take our spending to £80 million for the summer. Quite a statement by the club, but I would still love one more player to sign. It would be greedy to expect more, but I hope we are keeping our offer for Alexis Sanchez on the table.

Barcelona look to be close to getting Fabregas for the £35 million being demanded. Its possible they will not be able to get both Fabregas and Sanchez because there financial situation is not great. If we can offer £30 million then Barcelona might struggle to match it. I’m convinced that despite all the speculation, Sanchez would want to join Man Utd if the chance arose.

Signing Sneijder would be brilliant for the club, but signing both Sneijder and Sanchez would be an incredible statement of intent. Deschamps said our team lacked fantasy, but adding Sneijder, Sanchez and Young would bring the fear factor back. It would be expensive but we should be able to achieve it, considering we sold Ronaldo for £80 million and are offloading others this summer.

i think both nasri and snieder are needed, cos we r lacking lots of fair in d game. Imagine playing 4-2-3-1, then we can beat barca

  3. Muftahu says:

Jamali,i strongly agree with ur sugestion. We need cm to stablize our team.we need player like snider or shawst.to add. Podgba,claver.&morris.should be given chance, the new schooles, may emerge from them.Carrick,obertan,berbat.should look the other way

  4. Ruudisgod says:

Really don’t understand why everyone is going mental about having to compete with Barca.. We may not play them again for another 5 years.. We play in the english league, not spanish and that’s what we should be focussing on.

    —-Hernandez—Rooney—-
    ———Sneijder———
    Young——–Valencia/Nani
    ——Flethcher/Jones—–
    Evra–Vidic–Rio.F–Rafael
    ———-De Gea———-

    Formation:4-1-2-1-2
    Sneijder+Rooney:Free role

This is the only formation I see that Sneijder and Rooney can play in the same team. Sneijder is a great player but wether he suits Manchester United is something else. He likes to play the number 10 role which Rooney plays off the striker/s. Sneijder has not been succesful in a CM position at his time at Real Madrid so that will not work. A player like Modric or Sneijder that could play in the CM position which would allow the wingers stay higher up the pitch instead of increasing their work-rate this also allows us to perform counter attcks mmore effectively. Nasri and Modric are great dribblers which we also need in our midfield.

    • Kev says:

No offence intended, but that is a stupid formation.
I would never work in prem or cl. I have no doubt it works for u on FIFA. But FIFA is a console game.

  6. triffon says:

i dont think we need sanchez, i mean nani and valencia are world class, young almost world class, and i personally dont think signing sneijder will be enough, we need a sneijder and at least a boderline world class cm to go with him.
i mean yeah we can win the premierleague with sneidjer alone, but, barcelona is the bigger picture, only way well get one over them is with an all star midfield.

  7. R.Rosso says:

    I hope not.

We need a quality CENTRE midfielder alongside Carrick (30) not an expensive luxury, PREMIERSHIP UNPROVEN player 30 yards away we have to accomodate. Been there and done that.

Modric (25) would be a perfect fit for our centre midfield IMO (fuses quality AND graft….which spells Manchester United)but unfortunatley ATM has his head turned by Chelsea.

Nasri (24)is an excellent shout a bit more offensive than Modric (which means more goals) but likewise always looks for the pass and as well isn’t shy of hard graft, only 24yrs and is Premiership proven. Ability speaks for itself.

Anyone but an expensive, Dutch, sulky, “I want a free role” UNPROVEN IN Premiership luxury in diva-like Wesley Sneijder(27). OVERATTED. And NOT A ‘CENTRE-MIDFIELDER’ we require.

Though small in stature better options in Modric and Nasri won’t be bullied and can press and harry. Sneijder CAN drop deep but WON’T graft like the other two. He is also Premiership UNPROVEN so we won’t know how he would cope with the electric rough, tumble and pace of our game.

Should we sign Sneijder (27) our midfield will again have a gap as wide as the grand canyon consisting a lone Michael Carrick (30)standing in the middle of it. Sneijder IS NOT a centre midfielder, he WILL NOT press or harry like a Modric or Nasri.

    • Kev says:

If u refer to veron your being unfair. It was scholes failiure as a 2nd striker that meant he never played in his position. His performance against juventus away was one of the best individual utd performances I’ve ever seen.
I’m not having a go at scholes by the way he’s a legend. Best utd midfielder ever.

    • sha10 says:

buy sneijder and nasri and put in a formation of 4-4-3 then united will smash barca in the champions league. Berba on the right up front, rooney in the middle with cico on the left. Young on the left wing, nasri left cm, sneijder right cm,nani right wing and we should have evra left back rio and vidic the two full backs and rafael or fabio as right back

  8. tom says:

Jesus Christ. I’m so sick of hearing this Sneidjer Nasri talk. Neither of these players will be coming to Utd. Sneijder will not accept a wage cut, this is fact. Nasri, again fact wants as much money as possible and will go to City While I apprecaite the fact that we need to bolster our midfield, it will categorically not be with any of these players. Talksport’s Dom McGuinness has nothing concrete to say but silly season speculation containing half quotes, conjecture and heresay. Once agin Sneijder or Nasri will not be coming to Utd. Can we please end this shite talk and concentrate on the midfield players we’ve already got and will be coming through the reserves.

    • Kev says:

Couldn’t agree more. Pogba, Morrison n tunnicliffe r the future, but still a couple of seasons away imo.
I think we need a world class midfield playmaker. The champs league final was embarrassing tbh.
I just want a player that wants to play for us, and who’s wife doesn’t wear the trousers. I can appreciate any wag would rather live in Milan than Manchester. I don’t think a player should take that into consideration.

  9. TIME says:

i think united are quite boring. they play quite predictable football. lets be honest chelsea defeated themselves last year. inconsistancy was everyones problem. this year liverpool look great, city will be formidable, chelsea as strong as ever and united have carrick, giggs and anderson in midfield. not good enough.
sign sanchez and wesley and rodwell. stop being stingy wasting money on bebe and obertan. rubbish. our midfield squad should be young, rodwell, fletcher, sanchez, wesley, sweinsteiger, nani, valencia, cleverly. get rid of carrick he is rubbish, giggs is way to old, anderson 2 goals in four years…….

    • Kev says:

Chelsea are much more predictable than us. See CL semi final, city have a squad of defensive midfielders and Mancini as a manager. Spurs n arsenal played some nice stuff but it got them nowhere.
      Ur point is idiotic.

  10. Imran Hussain says:

Pogba is shit just a dump player running round like a headless chicken so what if hes strong its football not athletics

    • Kev says:

You are a w#nker, who knows f#ck all.
Pogba is the future. Strong, skillful, amazing passing and goals.
      Future captain of France.
      U disrespectful mug.
