The Croatian isn't expected to start tonight

Good news for United fans, ahead of tomorrow’s Spurs game. Luka Modric will not be playing for the Londoners according to reports.
The Mirror notes:
Modric axed from Spurs team to face United

Wantaway star Luka Modric has been axed from the Spurs team – with boss Harry Redknapp admitting he is mentally unfit to play.

Playmaker Modric is a top transfer target for London rivals Chelsea, who are ready to treble his wages to lure him away from White Hart Lane.

Despite Spurs chairman Daniel Levy claiming the Croat is not for sale “at any price”, Redknapp spoke last week of the difficulties involved in keeping a player who knows he can earn much more elsewhere.

And last night Redknapp appeared to prepare the ground for Modric’s departure by leaving him out of tonight’s showdown with Manchester United.

I think Spurs should sue Chelsea for repeatedly bidding for Modric when they were informed he was not for sale at any price. Further, Chelsea have apparently let it be known he would triple his salary at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have ruined this player for Tottenham and in fact may have ruined his career in England. If Chelsea management has a shred of decency they will withdraw their offer and discuss the situation with the Tottenham chairman over the course of the next 12 months.
