The second leg of the Spanish Super Cup ended with all too familiar shenanigans at the Nou Camp last night. A Barcelona 3-2 victory on the night saw the Catalans win 5-4 on aggreagate, yet it was the ugly scenes on the touchline everyone was talking about.

After Marcelo picked up the obligatory Real Madrid El Classico red card, Jose Mourinho thought he’d difuse the situation by eye gouging the Barca assistant coach. A disgraceful act that has no place in my local pub, let alone a football field. Many Reds have claimed The Special One could be the next United boss, well call me old fashioned but I’d almost rather see Ron Atkinson re-installed than someone capable of such a heinous act.

This picture is photo shopped, not that it makes it any better but jose pinched his cheek not gouged his eye.

I dunno mate, I reckon a younger Fergie would’ve gave someone a sly glasgie-kiss if a brawl kicked off between us and say Liverpool.

Mourinho is a winner, he has all the players and officials at his club and the opposing clubs wound up so much on and off the pitch for one reason only – winning, by whatever means necessary. He certianly has a wee red devil inside of him……

Winning by whatever means necessary??? Even if it means stooping this low? Comon lad, we are United, we have history and standards, remember that.

      • Alikazam says:

Standards such as a previous United genius who jumped over the hoardings to Kung-Fu kick a member of the crowd. Maybe a little eye gouging isn’t so bad…

        • carlnorth says:

That was in response to a little scum bag shouting racist taunts at the King……the King taught him a lesson. He didn’t try and gouge someone’s eye and run away like a little girl

        • Jim says:

And it wasn’t Fergie doing it, nor condoning or encouraging it, so a silly comparison!

Aye and a bit of the Chelsea bitch too .

That looks like Borat in the background!

  5. Red Ken says:

Moyes would be my first choice if it was today

  6. To be honest I think Mourniho was aiming for a “pie-face” rather than to gouge an eye, but even if that is the case you distance yourself from the situation, you don’t get involved. This Real Madrid managerial career move has only dirtied his star since it started :\

    • José says:

Like the England job the Real job is a poisoned chalice, at a time when Barca are unplayable, it may send him over the edge mentally, he could be for soft wall motel after it rather than old trafford.

  7. best7 says:

Moyes? Seriously? Not a chance, Moyesy is only good for seige mentality style of club, the Theatre of Dreams is a totally different beast!

My heart says Ole to suceed SAF, my heads telling me Jose!

  8. Colin says:

Jose knows his side are still behind Barcelona therefore he sends his team out to unsettle Barcelona by kicking them , Man Utd deserve great credit for not stooping to these tactics and as Messi said Utd have class as a team and as a club.

Yes Barca rolled around but this is their answer to jose’s negative tactics , He sends them out to kick we will act up on it , Great tactics by Barcelona.

Photoshopped–I was in the crowd and only three seats back. Mourinho is a genius–he has,as he always does, closed the gap on the top in team in whichever league he joins–and will win LaLiga this season. Barca have been caught–who would have thought? Anybody that has followed Mourinho, that’s who. As a Man United fan I say sign him as soon as Sir Alex retires. He truly is a genius–at one point it pained me to say that, but it’s true, he is that good!!

Get a grip, it’s the start of the season. Regardless, the man is anti football and not for us.

I thought exactly the same the second I saw it. I never want him a United-he’s a child and I reckon he’s losing it. It’s all gone to his head and he thinks he can do whatever he wants. Guardiola would never do anything like this…he’d be my first choice. Behind him I reckon Owen Coyle may turn out to be a great manager but needs a bit more time.
