Sir Alex Ferguson

Fergie -lots to ponder for the Spurs game

In today’s United press conference Sir Alex Ferguson named his defence to play against Tottenham in light of the injuries we now have.

With Rio Ferdinand out until the Arsenal game and Nemanja Vidic not available for at least five weeks Fergie says the back four next monday will be:

Chris Smalling at right back, Evra left back, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans in the centre of defence.

Monday will be a real test not just for the defence but also for David De Gea who will have to make his home EPL debut against an atacking Spurs side, behind a makeshift defence.

Despite the media pummeling De Gea has received since his mistake against West Brom last weekend, the United manager still has confidence in him and rightly so.

News that Chicharito is back in training will be met with joy by Reds everywhere. Darren Fletcher is expected to need another reserve game under his belt before being match fit.

    where the fuck is fabio?

    • Keith says:

Smalling played very very well at RB against City, and while I can see putting Fabio at RB and Smalling at CB instead of Evans, but with both Vidic and Rio out Im fine with playing three tall defenders to help on corners and set pieces….

    MU ‘boleh’ (can)!

  6. spoon says:

It is the defence I would have picked. Although Fabio at right back and Smalling in the centre with jones would have been equally good, seeing as they are the established pairing for England u21s.
