Not even a yellow *sigh

Not even a yellow *sigh

Every United fan’s favourite referee Martin Atkinson has covered himself in even more glory today by admitting he saw Mario Balotelli’s knee-high studs up challenge on Alex Song on Sunday, yet felt it wasn’t worthy of a card.

The FA announced that Balotelli cannot be punished for the astonishingly bad ‘tackle’ -although assault would be more appropriate- after Atkinson admitted he’d seen the offence yet decided not to card the City striker.

The Arsenal dugout were left fuming following the challenge, that even provoked a response from City boss Roberto Mancini who seemed furious with his player for such a nasty foul.

How Atkinson, one the games most experienced and respected referee’s can expect players, fans and managers to trust him, when he allows challenges which could feasibly end careers, to go unpunished is quite frankly beyond me. We ask a lot of our referees and they often have a thankless task, but witnessing a challenge like the one at Sunday’s game and allowing it, is unacceptable. It’s time for the FA and Martin Atkinson to seriously consider his position.

Feck off you United rag scum, Aitkinson is a fecking United fan and anything he ever does always works to United’s fecking advantage you fecking runts.

    • José says:

i suppose by leavin him on the whole game, it prevented someone who gave a shit coming on for him, thus handing an 8 point lead to united, well played mr atkinson i like wat you did there,

    • Sulz says:

Hahaha cant spell f***. City scum…

  2. Nitram says:

I don’t get it – Atkinson’s had 2 whole days to look at the video. Why didn’t he just say he didn’t see it at the time?

  3. Neutral says:

Just a though, maybe money played a part in it.

  4. oap fan says:

could not reprieve Derry because then they would surely have to charge young with cheating

    • José says:

young didn’t forget to lift the flag for offside, that was what made it a peno, he went down easy, which is different than diving,

      • CiTyBlUe says:

Dfierent from diving, you priks make the rules up for yourselves.

Yound dived end of, the FA refused to charge Young for cheating because they rae run by two United fans, Dave Richards and David Gill.

You’re a FECKING JOKE, you only win the title because of the help you get from referee’s and the FA.

  5. Mjau says:

I (a United fan) was suprised that Derry’s card wasn’t revoked (’cause it was a clear offside goal and it shouldn’t had stood) but THIS is just shocking… Atkinson (and the FA for that matter) is completly off. Not the first theese sorts of things happens.

I would more likely talk about great football than poor (read awfull) refereeing.

  6. Denise Williams says:

City Blue surely you must see that Balotelli’s tackle was appalling. Your own manager Mancini also said he deserved a lengthy ban. Purely in the intersts of the game we need to stamp out these potential leg breaking challenges. That tackle could have ended Alex Song’s career. Personally I blame the FA as they could have and indeed should have taken retrospective action. Graham Poll has just said that they do in every other country so our FA is yet again out on their own. It is further proof that the FA is not fit for purpose and should be replaced with a genuine independant body with no allegiances to the clubs in question. I mean how on earth can this FA be considered to have made an unbiased decision with David Bernstein as Chief Executive

    • CiTyBlUe says:

I do agree with Balotelli’s sending off and I want Balotelli out of Manchester (not Trafford), despite that I still think you’re cheating scum who make up your own rules.

young should have been charged by the FA for diving, just like all the times Wayne Rooney has dived with TV footage to prove it plastered all over the internet but never has Rooney ever been charged either.

your an utter joke who needs help from the FA and referee’s to win.

  7. Jim says:

Hmmm, CiTyBLUe, so somehow not giving that retard a straight red worked to United’s advantage??, hmmmm, bit deluded don’t ya think?? Question for Atkinson, did ya see the other two that were nearly as bad???

    • CiTyBlUe says:

Yes it did you prik, as much as I hate Balotelli he was provoked by Sagna, Sagna always provokes and you dan well know it.

Arsenal were allowed to play overly aggressive football against us, so were Stoke and Sunderland without a single word from any referee but as soon as one of our players retaliates out come the fecking cards.

Feck you and feck all the referee’s that favour you, feck the fecking FA cunts too. We will defy you sooner or later and when it happens, it will be a better day for English football.

Same goes for the pathetic clubs that turn up at Old Scaffold just to park the bus and not even try to win, feck them too.

  8. StevieBlue says:

Like the Rugney elbow v Wigan, that was off the ball and cowardly. Then again he is a scouse pie eating fat barsteward Traff player, so therefor gets away with it.

I rest my case your honour!

    • thisishowitfeelstobecity says:

got away with it? i’m fairly certain he got a ban you moron

      • redisgreaterthanblue says:

        thisishowitfeelstobecity

dude, are you a doofus or what? he got his 3 match ban from receiving his 3rd red card of the season. and the red card culminated from 2 yellow cards which were entirely unrelated to the alex song incident. so much for being a shitty fan. or maybe you are really a shitty fan.

  9. 20 times and that's a fact says:

United fans’ favourite referee? Bollocks. He cost us the title in 09-10 against Chelsea! What rubbish you write

  10. JETELINHO says:

City Blue??? HAHAHA – true ULCER, I mean BLUE ULCER.

@ Denis Williams & ´Purely in the interrests of the game´ – well, it is Man. Pity, so IT HAS ABS. NOTHING WHAT SO EVER TO DO WITH THE GAME CALLED: FOOTBALL …, so, mate, I am afraid we can hardly ask them to care abot the game :-). And my position to this topic: well, it only shows, how BAD Atkinson is, without any doubt THE WORST in UK (with reserve!). This – quite simply – IS a straight RED, 5-8 matches ban (probably prison would do too) / just last note: remember Rooney JUST screaming into TV at WHU after scoring hat-trick in some 15+ mins to abs. change the game? – he was given 5 matches based upon nothing as there wasn´t ANY rule to punish him like they did. AND – in this case, where there ARE rules to punish truly HORRIBLE TACKLE, nothing is given. Does it have anything to do with that blue ulcer mafioso Bernstein???? … just wondering …
