Could the youngster show his older brother how it's done

United were dealt a massive blow on Monday as Chelsea made a successful late play for the most coveted youngster in European football.

There’s one obvious way in which United could have approached the Eden Hazard saga, and it’s a way that not many people seem to have thought of. There happens to be another Hazard in France, Thorgan Hazard. Thorgan is the younger brother of new Chelsea recruit Eden, and plies his trade in Ligue 2 with renowned football factory, RC Lens.

At the age of 19, he has only made 11 league appearances for Lens, but Belgian youth coaches who have worked with both siblings, tip young Thorgan to be as good, if not better than his more famous brother. On this premise, United could have, and possibly should have, made a serious play for Thorgan. He would not command a massive transfer fee as he has made only a handful of appearances. He is not much more than a raw talent at this stage, but would flourish in United’s environment. United also have other Belgians in the reserves and youth team which is always important when a player moves to a new country. Under the expert tutelage of United’s youth and senior coaches, he could possibly even go on to become an Old Trafford legend.

More importantly, however, it could have persuaded Europe’s biggest talent (Eden), to join United instead of the Russian riches of Chelsea. Fantasy football you might ask? Maybe, but with a little bit of thought this could actually have happened.

Who knows? Maybe one day Thorgan Hazard could make the move his brother never did.

Didn’t we try this with Paul Pogba??? Wont work and we need to concentrate on players for right now, not the future!!!

“made a successful a late play”
Sure, I mean the fact that CFC had scouted him for a year and a half was really leaving it “late” wasn’t it?
Do your homework before posting, although, being a United fan I should expect nothing more than illogical dribble really, my mistake for thinking maybe your fans had learnt how to hold a proper discussion…

If he’s anything like his brother don’t bother. Do some research on kagawa. Looks one hell of a player & a much better man too.

Just give up on hazard period. I want to vomit every tome i hear that name and i REALLY hope he tears his ACL on his chelsea debut

  8. Ted Perechalli says:

Get him! It is a risk worth taking if what the coaches say is true.

This is plausible! I’m for it! Provided Sir Alex doesn’t wait until he’s bought up by Lille or PSG only to buy him for a fortune later, like BEBE! If United is to get Thorgan, it’s now not after he’s old enough to give everyone a headache over his contract terms, or at least before he gets to the point of attracting the attention of the pig greedy agents! Get him now, train him in the United Football way, he’s a definite talent! He could even have the nickname THOR on his back for confidence effect!
