The league table doesn’t lie, last season Manchester City were the best team in the Premier league and won it because of that fact.

United weren’t robbed, it wasn’t ‘Joey Barton’s fault’ – lets face facts if we’re relying on that cretin to save our season, we don’t deserve to win anything. I’m not about to start moaning about City ‘buying the title’ – they had money they spent it, we knew they would and what we needed to do to prevent them being successful and we failed. United let an eight point lead slip with six games to go. That’s not the form of Champions- nor is going to our rivals with a game plan simply not to lose.

There’s something that seems quite amiss in the media though, ever since with seconds of the season left, Sergio Aguero won City the title. It’s as though history is being rapidly re-written to make United seem like a sick old man, whipped to a pulp by a young vibrant athlete. Well I’m sorry but I just don’t recall the season in the same way. Yes United lost, but were we really that bad?

Here’s how the media viewed last season- and United’s future.

One of the greatest if not the greatest club sides in the history of English football triumphed over one of the worst United sides in recent memory.
Well excuse me for stating the obvious but wouldn’t such a great side have beaten such a poor one by more than just goal difference? Wouldn’t they have wrapped up the league well before the 95th minute?

City managed to cope for several games without their skipper and best defender Vincent Kompany, as we were constantly reminded whenever the Belgian missed a game. Nemanja Vidic missed almost the entire season, yet this is hardly mentioned and when it is, it’s dismissed as almost irrelevant.

United were so desperate they bought Paul Scholes out of retirement-which shows how much they’d slipped. Surely if Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher hadn’t been ruled out for months we wouldn’t have needed to bring Scholes back, but is anyone really surprised we did? One of the best midfielders of all time, who was training with the first team and obviously fit. Meanwhile City signed Owen Hargreaves. Yes, Owen Hargreaves, yet somehow it’s United who were the sad desperate ones.

Phil Jones was a flop. Yep, that teenager we bought who played over 40 games and was part of a side that amassed 89 points, the same lad thats ten years away from reaching his peak and is now part of the England squad, he’s shit him.

United are in decline. Our best points tally in years, after losing our best defender for the entire season. Chris Smalling, Danny Welbeck, Phil Jones, David De Gea, Javier Hernandez, Rafael, Tom Cleverley and Fabio. If only we had some good young players to help us move forward, players who’ve already shown they can play at the very top level.

The jury’s still out on David De Gea. Of course after all, stunning saves week in week out and 13 clean sheets in 29 league games, are a joke. At the age of 21 the Spanish stopper is obviously past it, so bad he’s been called up to the full Spain squad.

United have no money to compete with City and Chelsea. If only there was a rule being implemented which would give a club like United, with our massive turnover some form of help…..

Sir Alex Ferguson will retire one day. Yes he will, but I’m guessing it won’t be this forthcoming season so and again I may be being presumptuous but our manager’s eventual retirement will have no bearing on us until he actually does retire.

It’s the dawn of a new era. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t everyone say this when Jack Walker’s millions delivered Blackburn Rovers their third league title? Or when Arsene Wenger won the double in 1998? Or when Jose and Roman started a ‘Blue Revolution’ or when Rafa Benitez took Liverpool to the top of the table?

I may come across as deluded, after all even I’m not blind to the fact the Glazers taking large sums out of the club is detrimental to it, but I just don’t buy into the idea that last season proved how poor we are and how much trouble we’re in. I may be wrong but despite it being an unsuccessful campaign, I think the players who’ve come through and gained valuable experience will help next season be a much better one. Believe.

Really? seriously? talk about top notch contradictory. One mine you spouting about how the experience will get you over the line, Now it’s all about gaining experience!!!”!” Make your mind up, never gracious in defeat, your arrogance will be your downfall.

    • salford reds says:

The irony of this, your arrogant coming on here telling us we’re arrogant. Typical bitter.

      • Saluteglazers says:

Year after year putting up with your arrogance. Table turned around lately and you throw your toys out of the pram. Real men would acknowledged their enemies credentials and be gracious in defeat till next time. I suppose I’m asking too much from plastic fans.

Brilliant.. With nemanja and fletcher hopefully back by september and arrivals such as Hazard or more realistically Kagawa we’re gonna put those scum back in their place. Money can buy you an x amount of quality players but you can only field 11. United Till I die

It just backs up what the autor of this article is implying . Sensationalism and a story at any price . Welcome to the real world .

  3. chrisaus88 says:

Agreed. it was hard to take but we’re a better team than chelsea & we won two cups. We didn’t have any luck this season losing vidic & Fletcher & everyone else at some point. 2 good signings 7 we will win the league.

    • wiuru says:

      Good laugh that Bertie !

    • Lee won pen says:

I from china also, nobody even heard of this ‘city’ team you talk about here. Apparently they say they level with huddersfield town on league titles. I would rather support a big club.

  5. CiTyBlUe says:

Fecking idiot rag showing yourself up as you rags always do.

Banging on about the loss of Vidic all season, then making out Phil Jones is some kind of super youth (may want to make your fecking mind up on who you’re missing and not missing.

City on the other hand only had the not so great Stefan Savic to cover the best defender in the league, I seem to also remember Kompany being banned for three games after one of your cheating twats of a United player dived to get him red carded (I believe it was the diving Nani, what a great bunch of diving champions you have).

A mass all the preferential treatment United received this season gone with all the blatantly obvious mis treatment Manchester City received by referees and take that away, Manchester City would have left United and the rest of the league for dust.

The only reason you were still in the title race in the first place is because of all the penalties and diving your pathetic little club achieved.

You are now also known and looked upon as diving cheats.

    McDonald’s United – I’m lovin it!

    • wiuru says:

Revisionist history again Bertie Nani stayed on his feet , He jumped and only just cleared the challenge .Kompany would of seriously injured Nani had he connected .It was intent . That had kompany sent off .
Instead of wallowing in your bitterness enjoy the win . If you believe your the real deal what are you worried about and why come on a United Blog ?
      Prefer Kentucky myself

    • Salford says:

kompany missed three games? lol. Vidic missed 32 an you only won on gd. If he was fit United would be champions, and its not just reds who know this. Next year you wont be so lucky bertie. Now run along off to spend another billion, but just remember you’ll always be in our shadow……19….nineteen…..19.

Your big in dubai dont forget…haha

      • Saluteglazers says:

Hi I’m a manure fan, I have a “19 inch sausage”, every time look through my bedroom window and see the moon rising, I’m struck with fear all the way down to my spine. My sausage keeps shrinking an inch every year every time I see that wonderful fearful moon. My doctor told e its the end of my era, soon I will have nothing to Bragg about when I’m down to an inch.

  6. CiTyBlUe says:

Oh wait a sec, it wasn’t a dive by Nani was it, it was a Nani intent on just walking away and letting Kompany get sent off, while your cheating scumbag of a striker provoked the ref into sending off Kompany.

Like I said a complete and utter bunch of whining cheats, that need the help of the FA and referees.

    • cass says:

Isnt the chairman of the fa a city fan? Hang on minute.

      • CiTyBlUe says:

fecking wank, the chairman of the FA allowed a referee to change his action days after the game was over just to ban Balotelli.

The same chairman of the FA that allowed Ashley Young to blatantly dive and cheat TWICE live on TV for the whole world to see, and not punish him just because hes an England and United player.

The same Chairman who publicly spouted he had no alliegence to Manchester City FC, you’re a fecking doosh bag to even suggest he has helped us in any way what so ever when all he has done is hinder us to promote himself and show the real nob jockeys in charge at the FA aka David Gill and Dave Richards, both of which are fecking rag scum.

You rags are so far up your own arses its a frigging joke, no you’re a frigging joke and now the laughing stock of the league. Even Sunderland fans showed you how hated you are for your pityful arrogance and ignorance demanding respect from others but refusing to give it back.

Here’s what I think of the lot of you, PRICKS.

Do you understand the two roles given to Bernstien ?
          1. Oversee the implamenation of FFP .
Straight away a conflict of interest , but he hasnt stood down !
          2.To better relations with UEFA/FIFA
There isnt any corruption there is there ?

Read his Wiki page understand your own clubs history .He was responsible for keeping you afloat ,when you were truly S**T . That is not an understatement .

You really are a sad person .

  7. wiuru says:

Great read so true ,I knew we had lost the Prem that day except for a ten minute period where i nearly thought we could take it . Disappointed though i was . I soon realised we would come back stronger ! City bring it on this is what its about .Im not going to underestimate City or disregard the London clubs .But by god having achieved what we did this season with injuries and youthful errors and the old hands it makes me proud and confident .
Could you add to the list The Red Cafe has mice .The Daily mail obtained this info from Manchester City Council using the freedom of informati. on act !!! One deluded Bertie used this as one of 7 points why we are a spent force (Jeez) Im joining SAF and only reading the racing post ,this and i know naff all about horse racing lol . Have a great day all .Except the low life ABU press of course .

    • CiTyBlUe says:

Ye true within the United bubble which you’re all patching up from the inside, nothing more nothing less than a load of bullsht.

      • wiuru says:

I never argue with an idiot , it would drag me down to your level , And i know youd beat me with experiance !

Bullshit is having three decorative stars on your clubs badge !

        • Saluteglazers says:

What level is that exactly? Dressed in kappa trackies and Nike caps gathering in mass outside your star’s private home hurling stones and bottles for refusing to commit. We can learn so much from little scroony chavsters about class. Your still the most despised club on land and there is a good reason for that. So ungracious in defeat but then its not surprising coming manure.

        • wiuru says:

@saluteglazers .Another revisionist history writer .Every club has pond life as you prove in your bitterness .In the early Ninetys regularly after home games City fans 500 to a 1000 gathered to demonstrate outside the grounds .Threats , violence were all part of it .You are part of the many and varied reasons the blue moon will prove to be a baloon .Learn your history and get a life !

This was an article commenting on the media. You city supporters seem to take alot of offense to that! There us nothing in this article that should offend you.. It’s all true and mostly nothing to do with city.. Your club did sign Hargreaves, Which was a
Stupid move but I’m sure there was more coming from that move than keeping the medics on their toes.. Fact of the matter is you won the league, not by much but you won it none the less.. Ungracious in defeat? Seems you lot are so used to losing you don’t know how to behave when you win! Don’t worry, this unfamiliar burden will be taken off you quite soon..
