United’s latest signing Wilfried Zaha was on show tonight for Stuart Pearce’s England under 21 side as they demolished Sweden 4-0 at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium.

Two goals from Thomas Ince, and one apiece for Jonjo Shelvey- who also missed an absolute sitter- and Connor Wickham gave the young Lions an easy night of it.

It could have been more for England as Josh McEachran saw his soft penalty easily saved by Andreas Linde and Shelvey missed with his head from three yards.

Zaha showed some good touches and movement in a more central role, in the hour he was on the pitch before being subbed for Jason Lowe.

Little can be garnered from two thirds of a game for the under 21s but it’s good to see that Zaha’s progression seems to be taking a more realistic route after his foray into the full squad.

As an aside United’s Ben Amos was an unused sub.

Check out the video at around the minute and a half mark for Zaha’s quick skilful turn.
