Top versus bottom, first against last, David v Goliath, the match preview titles write themselves, but as many a United fan knows it’s not always plain sailing when we travel away to a seemingly doomed side.

Older Reds still recall the trip to Upton Park in 1992 which helped send the title to Elland Road that season- I must be getting old as I too remember listening on the radio as Kenny Brown banged in a winner- the venue of more heartache three years later.

Kenny Miller scoring his annual goal in the Premier League, back in 2004 is another result that sticks in the mind, although that season was something of a miserable one as Arsenal’s invincibles swept all before them.

Sir Alex Ferguson is exactly the type of man who remembers these results as though they were yesterday, he won’t be taking today’s game for granted so I for one expect a strong United side.

With Rooney out and Nani seemingly back in here’s my predicted line up: David De Gea, Rafael, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Nani,  Danny Welbeck, Robin Van Persie.

Do you agree? Let us know your line ups below:

I would replace Giggs and Welbeck with Anderson and Chicharito. Anderson will add more steel to the midfield while Chicha will be more potent in front of goal.
