Rafa Benitez brings his in-form side to Old Trafford today in a game that in previous years would almost certainly have been labelled a ‘title decider.’ The league fortunes of the two clubs have been completely different the past two seasons though, with Chelsea out of the title race well before ‘squeaky bum time’ even kicked in.

It’s foolish to think that the 20 point gap separating the two teams means that United will have an easy time of it- the FA Cup dispelled that idea- and with no love lost between Sir Alex and his Spanish counterpart, we can fully expect a strong Red line up.

The United boss is not only after a strong finish for his side, but also remains conscious of the duties the Reds have to the teams around them as giving away points to those seeking a top four finish is never likely to enhance your reputation.

With all that in mind, here’s the line up I predict Sir Alex will go for today:

David De Gea, Rafael, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick, Phil Jones, Nani, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Robin Van Persie

Many will cite Chicharito’s superb record against Chelsea as a reason to include him and I expect him to figure, just from the bench.

Let us know your predicted line up below:

    …………….De Gea………..

    Rafeal…Ferdinand….Evans…Evra

    Valencia…Carrick…Jones…Kagawa

    ……..Van Persie…Hernandez…..

Hernandez has a good record against Chelsea and he deserves to start the match. Rooney has been ok form wise but hasn’t been undroppable. I think if Hernandez does have a long-term future with Man Utd then he will start tomorrow. Kagawa needs to get more football and so I expect him to play. Vidic has only just returned to training, so I think he will be on the bench alongside Scholes.

Cleverley has completely disappeared lately, but I would expect Phil Jones to start alongside Carrick. Ferguson has been speaking so highly of Jones that it seems clear he is now a favorite of the manager. I would expect him to start all the remaining matches left this season.
