It’s enough to make you wish he’d actually just sign a new contract….

Real Madrid certainly aren’t giving up on Gareth Bale, despite recent reports that the winger is set to sign a new deal at Spurs. Marca newspaper, which is more or less a Madrid fanzine at times, has been waging something of a war of attrition over the Bale transfer this past week.

After claiming a deal had been done for the Spurs winger, the paper then changed tact and quoted him- from a source probably sat in a Spanish bar somewhere- as saying he was upset with Tottenham for not letting him leave. The latest effort from Marca is to cast doubts over Bale’s injury during the club’s pre-season tour in Hong Kong, claiming there may be something more sinister afoot that no doubt leads to a transfer to the Spanish capital.

Where does all this leave United? Well, I’m gonna stick my neck out and say I seriously don’t see Bale coming to United this Summer, although I’m not so sure he’ll go to Madrid either, he may well give it at least one more season in North London, which means we can look forward to all this nonsense next Summer.

Oh really Einstein. There has never been a hope in hell that he’d be going to United, anything to the contrary is fantasy. Besides he agreed the wages for his contract in the Bahamas on the end of season tour, the negotiation are the fine print, nothing major at all.

Particularly if Spurs pip MU for a CL spot. The pressure is all on Utd.

    Disrespectful fuckers

Dirty tricks indeed. Marca have reported exactly the same conversation took place between Bale and Levy as between Modric and Levy last year…word for word!

What makes me laugh is ManU calling this a saga! ManU have tried to attempt the same tactics a RM, using the media to unsettle a player only without the backing of a rag like Marca. ManU fans then read it and believe that Bale is on his way. Well me thinks the penny is beginning to drop with you lot, he is going nowhere. Looks like your negotiations with Fabrigas are also going well too. #spentforce

For a sensible comment, the author gets a pile of abuse. Instead he should be commended for not being delusional like some of tribalist tripe written elsewhere.

Save your bile for the Man U fans who really believe that they alone can have anyone whom they want for knock down prices. (Fabregas anyone?) Fergie, Sky and the Champions League built them up and the Glazers are bringing them down.

Only reason Spurs are on the receiving end of this is Real don’t covet anyone at Old Trafford.

Mean time thanks to Bob Hope (and the wonders of cryogenics), go sign the petition at http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/uefa-stop-real-madrid-illegally-tapping-up-players whether you wear the red or the white.
