De Gea – It could have been a lot worse today if the young Spaniard wasn’t on full-alert. 8

Jones – Probably the worst I’ve seen him play in a Red shirt. Couldn’t pick up a United player with a pass to save his life. Woeful. 3

Ferdinand – Guilty for the first goal. A player of his experience shouldn’t be beaten that easily by his marker. Decent overall. 6

Vidic – A good performance over the 90 minutes but nearly cost us a second with a clumsy back-pass. Spared blushes by De Gea. 6

Evra – Offered much width going forward but disappeared completely as the game played out. 7

Giggs – I hate to say this but Ryan finally looked his age today as he failed to keep up with play. Shouldn’t have started as he’d have offered plenty late on. 3

Cleverley – Brought energy to midfield but lacked any creativity with the ball. Offered no penetration with the ball. 5

Carrick – Usually reliable, he lost the ball over and over again. Failed to get going, not just today, but so far this season. 5

Young – There have been farts which have offered more of a threat to opposition defenders than Ashley Young did today. Quite simply pathetic. The only reason he didn’t get a 1 is because he did us all a favour and came off. 2

Welbeck – Fast footwork and snappy passing, he was the most likely to get us a goal today. 7

Van Persie – Wasn’t to be his day. Never really looked like scoring but his frustration at the lack of supply was very evident. 5

Subs:

Valencia – Anything was going to be an improvement on Jones today. Added some balance to our attacks. 6

Nani – If he’d have walked on to the pitch and had a heart-attack, he’d still have scored a better rating than Ashley Young. 5

Hernandez – N/A

It hurts to see united lost, but more so to see the way they play 🙁

As a Liverpool fan you played well in the 2nd half but as always Liverpool for some reason go into ultra defensive mode.

  2. Greatman says:

Jones – People got too much expectation on this guy. His improvement is less and less. Not only he hurt Rooney in the training, but also he hurt himself during the match. He is too fragile. He may again be injured most of the time this season. 1

Giggs – His shine is fading. Still lots of people don’t think it is including himself. Maybe Man Utd hasn’t had many good people for quite a long time. People still put lots of expectation on him. It is really too bad for Man Utd. 1

Cleverly – Again, he was playing so hard. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have that quality on midfield. We really need someone can take this job. 3

Carrick – He couldn’t find too many support on his team. Not much he could do. Things won’t be changed until we find someone in wing and midfield. 3

Young – He should be responsible to the corner that lost the goal. He was terrible so far after transferring to Man Utd. 1

Wellbeck – Again, he doesn’t have quality to play on his current role. Too easy losing ball, inaccurate passes, terrible shooting quality, etc. No striker character at all. Tall, strong and quick mean nothing to a team. Quality is the most important thing. 2

RVP – He didn’t play well. He got no support also. 4

Valencia – He should be on the starting line-up under the current Man Utd situation. He didn’t play well, but much better than the others. 6

Nani – A little hope from him after he’s out. But, he is still like the old time. Selfish and easy losing balls. 5

    Finally:

Moyes – He made a BIG BIG mistake on putting Giggs on the right. Giggs may make some good cross from left but didn’t make any good from the right. His tactic was doubtful. Also, how come Rooney was so easy to get serious hurt during the training just before an important match? What training did Moyes assign to them? Every one knows Man Utd weakness – midfield and wing. His tolerance on the transfer is being too long. Any change can be better than no change. 0

Agree with the rating. Player like Ashley Young shouldn’t be considered as a winger anymore. He has no pace and cannot beat any defender. His quality is never good enough to play for United. This is the one that should be sold really.

Jones produce absolutely nothing since the match against Swansea. He can defend but every time he go forward, his cross end up as a WASTE. For Giggsy, his time is UP!!!!.. Moyes shouldn’t start with him anymore, especially for a fierce game like this. His experience may be useful if he came on in the 70th min., but not from the start really.

Our midfielders like Carrick and Cleverly have no creativity to penetrate in the middle. So, 1 day left for Moyes to DO or DIE really. Bring in at least 1 TOP CLASS CREATIVE MIDFIELDER like Ozil or Modric to engineer our midfield. Another signing of Fellani to make our attack in the air more dangerous would be a plus.

Team selection and tactics for Moyes was poor. Young not a good player,Gig too old.If we can’t sign players let’s try our youth like Butner ,Wilfred ,Powell etc.Why did we buy them ???

  6. ODYNAKS ODYNAKACHI says:

This is early season no need to panic we shall surely rise above the defeat, because to play against Liverpool at Anfield is a massive hot cake.So lets us calm down in rating our players we shall still pick up many winings in the coming months there’s time,i definitely don’t bother myself in creating a fear because i’am -ONE UNITED-

  7. James says:

Reality is to many cracks appearing. To many players past their sell by date. Rio. Giggsy. Evra. Jones. Cleverly and wellbeck not good enough. Could be a very bleak season

  8. Boblek says:

To be sincere young have no pace to beat defenders!!!!! Please and please where is zaha this guy is better than Young Manutd must go back home and do there home work……..

  9. Fidelis E. says:

Giggs is old and He should not be use to start this kind Match , Young not bench Valencia and Nani, Kagawa or Rooney, If one is not Around use the other. Chicharito should start de match not Welbeck : And Finally : Moyes should buy Players Epecially Creative midfielders !.
