The whole ‘story’ seems to conjecture at best, as although Moyes may want to sell players surplus to requirements it’s hard to see how Rafael and even Nani fit into that category. Much has been made of Nani being booed against Stoke City and while that does indicate how some fans have fallen out of love with the mercurial winger, it’s highly unlikely Moyes will allow over the top crowd reaction dictate his transfer policy.
Rafael has been linked with a move to Corinthians but has since dispelled such rumours insisting he is happy at the club. As the January transfer window approaches we can expect more stories, rumours and even lies about the one club guaranteed to see papers. There’s no doubt Moyes will eventually want to sell some of his under-performing stars but it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he waits until next Summer before embarking in a clear out. In the mean time the likes of Anderson and Young may be able to convince the manager- and the fans not to be too hasty.
