Progess, that’s the name of the game, something that many in the media fail to grasp, United are moving forward under Louis Van Gaal. Yes we’ve got less points at this stage of the season than we did at the same point in the last campaign, yes he’s spent the GDP of a small African country in the Summer and yes, we don’t have the ‘distraction’ of Champions League games but ask any fan and they’ll tell you the football is far, far better under our current manager.
Last season it took a less than sturdy Ashley Young to help us defeat Palace thanks to a slightly dubious penalty and a sending off for the South Londoners.
This time round United have an injury crisis that even Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t have to contend with in his 20 odd years at the club with barely enough fit defenders to fill a small lift. LVG will have to do some Vegas-style shuffling of his pack to face the Eagles today.
Here’s a predicted line up:
[4-3-2-1] DDG, Luke Shaw, Tyler Blackett, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind, Marouane Fellaini, Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie.
