Could the Colombian be rested today?

United travel to White Hart Lane in today’s early kick off looking to make it eight wins out of nine games after a run that’s even had people whispering very quietly about a title challenge.

The Boxing Day win over Newcastle saw Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie and Juan Mata all playing together and playing well. With Louis Van Gaal rightly questioning the logic of a Christmas fixture list that sees the games coming thick and fast, it’ll be no surprise to see quite a few players rested from those who started at Old Trafford.

Spurs are beginning to get their act together after a patchy start so the United boss will really have to earn his money today, giving the players who need it a rest without weakening the side too much.

With Luke Shaw and Rafael seemingly ready for first team action, expect them to start today along with James Wilson who could add some much needed pace to the Reds side.

Here’s a predicted XI:

[3-5-2] David De Gea, Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, Paddy McNair, Rafael Da Silva, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Adnan Januzaj, Luke Shaw, Wayne Rooney, James Wilson.
