Could Valdes lead to Bale?

Former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes joining United on an eighteen month contract has cast more than a few doubts over David De Gea’s future at the club.  The thought of De Gea leaving Old Trafford is completely abhorrent to most Reds as the Spaniard has been United’s best player for over 18 months now.

While many fans may not want to admit it, the chances of De Gea one day leaving United are far from remote, the main hope is that it’s later rather than sooner, but with Iker Casillas approaching his mid thirties, you have to wonder just how long it will be before Real Madrid come calling.

The best option for United when it comes to De Gea, whose deal runs out in 2016 may be to force the Spanish giants to offer one of their assets as part of the deal- with Gareth Bale being top of the Red’s wish list for some time now. Real Madrid have an abundance of match winners and a big money offer with De Gea thrown in to boot, may be enough to make them part with Bale.

It’s not the ideal and most Reds would rather De Gea stayed for the rest of his career, but if he is to leave getting a huge talent like Bale could at the very least, soften the blow.
