The biggest transfer saga of the Summer involving United’s David De Gea has taken a twist of late with news that the Reds are hoping to bag Sergio Ramos as part of the deal which sees the keeper swap Old Trafford for the Bernabeu.
Normally any deal suggesting Real would allow Ramos to leave would seem far-fetched at best but the Spanish international has been at odds with the club over a new deal and now faces a backlash according to the latest reports.
The Independent notes:
Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has been hit with an angry backlash following the state of open warfare he has provoked with his club which could enhance Manchester United’s attempts to sign him.
A recent headline in the Spanish press read: ‘Respect the Badge’ as Ramos is being accused of insulting his club by refusing to sign a new deal and allegedly hinting he may be willing to leave.
There’s lots of ifs and buts with any deal that could see Ramos leave the club where he’s become a legend, but stranger things have happened. Watch this space…
