United boss set to address the media.

Speculation regarding Louis Van Gaal’s future has now reached fever pitch with the latest reports suggesting that the United manager may not have offered his resignation after the Southampton defeat after all. It had been reported that the Reds boss had been prepared to quit on Saturday but vice executive chairman Edward Woodward refused to let the Dutchman leave. Now the club are moving to deny such an offer ever took place and appear to have given Van Gaal their backing.

Just how long that backing lasts for remains to be seen and it may only last until this Friday’s Derby County FA Cup game, where a loss would surely spell the end for Louis Van Gaal’s United career.

In the mean time the United press conference ahead of that game is scheduled for Thursday afternoon and without a doubt the former Barcelona boss is certain to be asked about his future, although time will tell if he’s still got one at Old Trafford after this weekend.

The manager’s press conference will be aired on MUTV on Thursday at 4pm.
