Paul Pogba

"Please don't go..." - or words to that effect.

The Paul Pogba contract saga is fast overtaking the Wesley Sneijder signing saga as the most drawn-out United story of the season. Although we’re still no clearer to really knowing where the youngster’s future will lie there is one mitigating factor United have over other potential suitors- the fans.

While Pogba has no real idea of how much the fans of Juventus or Milan or any of his other rumoured destinations, us Reds could quite easily show him just how much we want him at our club the next time he plays.

With Pogba on the bench for the Blackburn game on Monday there’s every reason to think he may still get another appearance before the season is out, quite possibly in one of the games at Old Trafford. What better way to prove to the lad that he’s at the best club for him, than to have 70 odd thousand fans singing his name? Yes I know it didn’t work with Carlos Tevez, but it seems United weren’t prepared to pay the sort of money he demanded, while Pogba’s demands seem to have been more or less met, it’s simply a matter of whether he’d rather ply his trade in Manchester or Turin.

The last time Pogba took to the pitch at Old Trafford some Reds vented their frustration by booing him. Personally I think booing your own player- a nineteen year old, we all want to see stay at the club, is pretty brainless, but then again I’ve even seen Michael Carrick booed at OT this season for doing a backwards pass against Chelsea, which goes to show the idiocy of some fans.

Pogba knows the manager wants him to stay, maybe if we show him the fans do too, he could decide to stay at the greatest club there is. It may not be to every fan’s taste, trying to coax a teenager to remain at our beloved club, but perhaps swallowing a bit of pride and really getting behind him, could help United keep a talent that may just make a big difference to our future successes.

Has United done enough to try and keep Pogba? Is it right for the fans to to try and persuade him to stay or should we boo him again?

Morrison, Pogba and Viera see it for what it is. If manager play young player, why pull up ghost for midfield when you have such talent and youth, and claim to push youth. Now is job of fan to convince talent that future is there when manager is ALL for past?
Mourinho please, please come to save MU for all mankind.

What planet are you on div?

If you want to support a club who plays young players who aren’t ready and wins nothing, then Arsenal is the club for you.

If you want to be the best, then saf leads the way in terms of knowing the right time to play young players and develop them.

The only pride that should be mentioned here is exactly what pogba should show in wanting to be at our club!Any player that has to be convinced to be here, for what ever reason is worthless. Are we willing to kiss arse to entice someone to stay?
Not once has pogba said he wants to stay! Good Riddance! He does not even have the courage to state his case,he hides behind that leech agent as his mouth piece.
Before Rooney is mentioned, he never wanted to leave. He asked for wages that reflected his value!

True, He’s 19 and has proved nothing. To make demands of a club the size of united!! Not sure if fergie will be having that, and if he does, the Lad must be GOOD!! I’d like him to stay cos he is good but if he doesn’t want to be a legend like Giggs r Scholes, an wants to go to more clubs than countryman Le Sulk, its his call. Not many are lucky enough to make the breakthrough at OT mayb he’s not up to it.

  4. Denis Irwin says:

United have done enough in their attempt to make him stay. His decision will he based on how much he wants to stay and if he doesn’t that’s too bad for him.. You are rewarded with alot more than money when you play for United. Hope the crowd does get behind him because once he is in the jersey, he is one of us.. Hope he makes the right choice..

  5. CROoney says:

if his departure depends on thr fans then kid will be off in no time – the OT fans/crowd are a disgrace…plus who the fuck is he that needs to be begged

I don’t understand why we esteem these young talents so much and yet we don’t see them on the pitch. I really don’t get this youth development thing to be frank. We all Know Michael Carrick isn’t an ideal super star midfielder and we’ve got Paul podga, davide petruci and other talented youngsters. If you don’t give them chances they’l all leave bcus we’ve made them think they’re already made super stars. Stop hyping these young players bcus they ain’t that good.

Pogba will be a Juventus player. We’re waiting for him and will convince him to come here, where the sun’s always brighting. C’mon Paul, pick up the right way!

    • José says:

1 win in 7 games, only thing takin Pogba to Juve would be the low income tax, simple.

  8. Bishampton Red says:

City are mainly a team of mercenaries. The way to compete with their mega £millions is by having players who have a burning passion & hunger to play for United – from the old guard of Giggs & Scholes down to the young guns like Welbeck & Cleverley. If Pogba does not have that desire then he should leave, and quickly.

  9. kevin says:

frankly id like for him to stay…cuz we need a player like him but im not gonna waste any more time time trying to convince him…cuz if hes made up his mind to go….there is no point convincing him….hes been blinded by a blanket of money and his greedy agent so he wont see anything right just like morrison….so im out!!!

Pogba, Fabio and Raphael, maybe even Nani will see like Kean and Ronaldo that MU is like serf to SAF. him arse get it big time. You not taste it yet?
