Didn’t want him to stay anyway….

It’s not been the best of weeks for Reds as the news a certain Spanish midfielder who many had pins their hopes on delivering title number 21 has decided to play for the Champions League winners – reminds me of a certain Belgian last season.

Although it has yet to be confirmed Thiago Alcantara signing for Bayern Munich seems about as certain as Anderson not signing for them. Us Reds are made of too sterner stuff to start weeping over a player many of us knew nothing of a few months ago- we prefer anger and pretending we didn’t want them anyway as we did with Jose Mourinho.

The gaping hole that needs filling in the middle of United’s side cannot be ignored and it was only this time last season many of us were hoping a young Frenchman would be just the lad to do it.

Paul Pogba’s decision to leave United for Juventus angered almost everyone associated with United, none more so than Sir Alex Ferguson who accused the youngster of lacking respect. All this would be completely irrelevant if Pogba had failed in Italy, but the little rascal’s only gone and had an impressive season and now in the Summer has helped France win the Under 20’s World Cup. To add insult to injury Pogba’s also picked up the Golden Ball player of the tournament award. At a time when United fans are trying to act unmoved by missing out on Thiago, Pogba going from strength to strength isn’t what we need.

United gave him no chance and i still feel angered. He is def the new Viera and we all knew it frm the start. Kip shining paul, sky’s ur starting point

      Well said mate.

      Henrosky,

He wasn’t ready the season before but would definitely have got his chance last season if he’d stayed….only spineless, fans regret his loss, I don’t, no matter what happens. If he had stayed, he’d have won the league with us and maybe more, cos we’re definitely better than Juve but he chose to leave, so be it!! No player is bigger than the club, good luck to him!!

  2. markyboy says:

No anger here delighted for the lad he believed in his own ability.

  3. Gh says:

He’s a fuckin tank and is gonna b the worlds best midfielder

  4. Youngchris says:

We should have given him a chance to know what he would be but we did not although we miss the young player but their are others better than him too.

Fergie blew it with pogba…for a man who has never stopped telling us how great the youth system is despite little evidence he overplays the ordinary ones ie the useless wellbeck and the average cleverly and never starts the genuine talent ie pogba..there has been a worrying trend at united in recent years with a preference for functional hard working players over flair…I don’t blame pogba…it is a mistake of huge proportions..but our clubs obsession with wellbeck because he is English shows that there are worrying politics at the club…Liverpool believed they had a divine right to win trophies and look what happened..

    • Colin says:

Oh ya, you know better than Fergie??? You watched him in training everyday??? You haven’t a clue mate, FACT!! He might have appeared ready to many the season before but he wasn’t. He’d have had his chance last season if he’d stayed with us but he chose to go, period!! Too bad…some players are just meant not to be, get over it!!

  6. Jimdex says:

We United fans wish him best in his life

  7. Michael says:

Fergie is solely to blame for Pogba leaving. His stubbornness at never playing the boy even in easy matches and meaningless cup ties was pure bull headed ness. Our midfield woes would be nonexistent if he were here. Thanks Fergie. What to do beg Scholes out of retirement again?

    • Colin says:

Hmm, so you, with absolutely not inside knowledge at all blame Fergie?? You haven’t a clue!!

  8. SKK73KLDevils says:

I feel we blew it big time with Pogba…we should have given the boy more respect and giving him more playing time and more recognition….we lost a talent cos we were being penny wise pound foolish…unfortunately Old Trafford is not a preferred destination by the big names anymore…so we better take a good and a conscious look at our policies and our attitude towards young footballers….

  9. Paul Taylor says:

Everyone needs to get over him and stop talking about him, he’s gone so get over it already, I’m happy for the lad, he never got a chance so just drop it for gods sake

    • Colin says:

I agree with you partially, and that is, we should get over it. He didn’t get a chance earlier cos he wasn’t quite ready….he was last season though, but he had already chosen to leave. People just don’t realise that the game has changed and that it’s now a really big jump from reserve team football to 1st team and that is why the EPL has revamped the format of the reserve league to make it more competitive and relevant, get it!!!

the world should watch out for this young chap. he is on fire.
