David Moyes takes his United side to the Stadium of Light today aiming to avoid a third successive league defeat for the first time since the 2001/02 season.
With Rio Ferdinand and Anderson rumoured to be the two first team players left behind, Moyes will no doubt have a different starting eleven to the one that lost at Old Trafford to West Bromwich Albion last week.
Although United are currently in the bottom half of the table, a win against Sunderland – who are rooted to the foot of the Premier League could well provide the catalyst to get the Reds season well and truly on track.

Moyes must u always play Rooney and ur formation is same always,why not change things like playing kagawa central and play jones defensive,carrack is good but weak when opponents run at us,and pls try chicha and van persie,we haven’t been scoring so we may as we’ll try something different,I would love Rafael vidic smalling evra,jones Fellani/carrack kagawa,while we could have nani van-persie chicharito.
